Hoover UH70015 Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner – Product Review

The Hoover UH70015 is a pricy bagless upright vacuum. If you’re interested in buying this vacuum read the following list of good and bad points of this vacuum before you spend that hard-earned money of yours.

Pros

Assembling this upright vacuum is a snap. You only need to tighten two screws to put the pieces together. After that you are ready to roll. The unit feels sturdy and well built. It’s kind of heavy but still easy to maneuver.

The Hoover UH70015 has excellent suction power. Dirt hidden in deep-pile carpets are no problem for this machine. On bare floors it can suck in any dirt, dust or crumbs effortlessly. It is the right tool to use when you want to do a thorough cleaning. This unit has multi-stage cyclonic filtration which means the air flows through three filters and makes the suction power consistent from start to finish. It is also equipped with a dirt sensor so you will know when your carpet is already clean.

With its 40-foot long power cord you can clean a large room without worrying about unplugging and re-plugging between power outlets. The crevice tools works well and the stretchable hose is long enough so you can clean stairs without having to take the machine with you.

All the controls are located on the handle instead of the base of the vacuum. When you need to switch from bare floors to rugs/carpet or adjust the carpet height you don’t need to bend anymore. The controls are user friendly too. This is a trait that it shares with the renowned bosch staubsauger.

Other features include a bright LED light so you can save all those precious toys (or toy parts) before they get sucked in. Its quietness is also very good. It is not even loud enough to scare a cat.

Cons

The major grief of this vacuum is the dirt cup. Emptying the dirt cup requires lots of practice and continuous reading of the manual. It is supposed to be easy once you get the hang of it but it before that happens it’s a messy, annoying and stressful experience. You also need to clean it thoroughly after a couple of use to maintain the suction power.

Another grief is the size. This machine is too big to get under the furniture or bed so you will to use the attachment. You will also need to use the attachment when cleaning near baseboards since this unit doesn’t do edge cleaning well.

The final grief is the wand. The aluminum extension wand is only about one foot which is too short compared to the hose and it is not a telescoping wand.

Conclusion

If only this machine is slim enough and the dirt cup isn’t such a pain the Hoover UH70015 would be a major star in the world of bagless upright vacuum. However, in its current state this machine would still be a great vacuum to have since it got the power to clean your carpets and bare floors thoroughly.
